Israel is a valuable strategic ally in the region, but it often finds itself sabre-rattling with its neighbors and other regional powers.  The issue of Palestinian sovereignty is a tricky one to thread, as it incites passions stemming from ancient religions that are often at odds.  To make matters worse, these spiritual tenants often deal with land rights which are believed by the faithful to be assigned by their god(s).  Let us not worry about these supernatural claims but instead look at the practical matter before us:  a strip of land 60 miles wide and 240 miles long has been a powder keg for hostilities for centuries, and these hostilities often have a global economic and humanitarian impact.  We owe it to ourselves and our citizens to forge a solution and advocate for the best interests of both the Israeli and Palestinian peoples.
