Well duh

A Republican will support a Republican, our partisanship is too strict for anything else

The lesson of the last 6 years is that Republicans will condemn Trump one minute, than kiss his ass the next minute. Its a delicate balance between moderate suburban swing voters and the majority of the GOP base.

Besides, McConnell doesn't want to go to war with Trump. He'll lose, I even made a thread about it

I’m really surprised by this. For supposedly being some kind of political genius, whatever tightrope he’s bizarrely trying to walk here doesn’t seem to be helping him win anyone over including the party base.

But expecting him to actually support a Democrat or some other party with the policy views he has isn’t really realistic, either.

All he had to say was “Well I think it’s too early to speculate about 2024” or some other pivot/dodge along those lines. The fact that he outright said this so forcefully is both surprising and pathetic.

Imagine being so pathetic that you would stand on the floor of the Senate and say someone was "practically and morally responsible" for an attack on the US Capitol but a few weeks later say you would endorse that person for election to the Presidency.

Hopefully Letitia will prosecute him for the million other things that he's done and he'll be locked up

Very few people care about Trump being a criminal, thats why Impeachment bombed big time, but his Insurrection gave D's a fighting chance in the Midterms that the Rs were heading a landslide otherwise

Turtle-man and Madam Lindsey are the weathervanes of the republican party. I would expect nothing less.

I watched highlights of the CPAC, the Rs are going with the same script that they played last time in 2009 blame the Recession that Bush W and Trump started on Biden or Obama.

The unaffordable tax cuts created defit ditches not stimulus checks that started the Recession

I just think back to when McConnell got brownie points hours after the Capitol Riots for saying "Taking over the Capitol is bad"
