Do you guys think the 2024 Republican nominee will follow Trump's example in terms of disclosing his/her tax returns, or will he/she regard Trump as an example to be avoided?

They won't, and far fewer people of any importance will ask for them, I think.

If they don't have anything dodgy in them, it's an easy popular position to take and one where they can distinguish themselves from Trump (and they can just repeat Trump's perpetual audit lie to pretend that Trump was right not to release his tax returns).

Why would Trump release them in 2024. The audit won't be finished by then. 😸

If somehow the nominee isn't Trump, I still expect them to not release their tax returns. Trump set the precedent that this is okay, so they'll withhold them.

If the party continues to follow the pro-Trump route (regardless of whether the candidate is Trump), then no they don't.

If the party swerves away from Trumpism then I expect they will, in attempt to distinguish from Trump

Definitely not. The only way to win Republican voters nowadays is to be insanely corrupt and then accuse the other side of doing the same thing…

It depends.

If the nominee is someone with little or nothing to hide financially, I'd expect them to release their tax returns after becoming the nominee. Anyone else probably won't.
