So no members of the US Congress, presidential cabinet, or Governors. Sticking strictly to state Senators, Representatives, Attorneys General, Lieutenant Governors. Mayors, etc. Strictly for this thought experiment, no celebrities. Donald Trump, The Rock, Will Smith, etc—off limits.

We almost elected a Mayor as President this past cycle, so this may not be as far off as we might think. I think someone like Keisha Lance Bottoms, Josh Shapiro/John Fetterman/Malcolm Kenyatta, etc could be the best possible pick, but I’m looking for some dark horses to watch here.

Nikki Fried, Kevin Falcouner, or Eric Johson/Lina Hidalgo if any of them actually win the governorship.

Same for Stefanik, but she's already a congresswoman.

Unfortunately, Hidalgo was born in Colombia, making her ineligible for the presidency.
