I voted "certain circumstances" because I think abortion should be legal up until the point that the fetus is viable.

Legal under most circumstances. Exceptions would only be a late term, viable pregnancy with no health risks for mother or fetus.

Certain circumstances (rape, incest). What we should do is try to help women who do have unplanned pregnancy and try to make birth control more accessible. We have to remember though, no one wants to have an abortion, and it’s a very painful decision for everyone involved. At the same time, we want to try to make abortions as rare of an occurance as possible as there are some moral issues around it, at least in my view.

At the same time, I am male, I can’t get pregnant, so I feel like it’s not really my place to dictate this conversion, this is just my personal beliefs, but as always open to hearing what others have to say, especially women who this issue mainly affects.

Legal under only certain circumstances is what most answered. That is what most Americans support.

(credit goes to Gallup)
This is what I derived the poll questions from.

“Legal only under certain circumstances” seem like a terrible methodology, since it could mean basically any position on abortion.

Completely legal during the first trimester.  No questions asked.  A fetus is part of a womyn's body, no different than a booger hanging out of her nose.    Illegal after the first trimester.

An arbitrary line in the sand should be drawn somewhere

But ideally, sex education and contraception should eliminate the need for most abortions in the first place.

I voted illegal under all circumstances, because:
“Legal only under certain circumstances” seem like a terrible methodology, since it could mean basically any position on abortion.

Of course, it should be allowed to protect the life of the mother. I am torn on the rape & incest exceptions because the mother shouldn't have to live with reminders of the tragic events, but the circumstances of conception don't change the baby's right to live. Its such a small exception I can't take a firm side one way or the other.

Legal up until 10 weeks, after that only permissible in cases of rape, incest, or if the mother’s life is at risk.

Oh! I have no opinion upon your body when it is empty, nor do I have an opinion upon an empty house. But when a human is inside, I ask that people then refrain from killing.

Has there been an Atlas poll recently with these exact questions? I wanted to compare and contrast with Gallup.

The (I assume unintentionally) implied thread question is "Do you consent to get into a stressful, unproductive argument about abortion in this thread?", the same implied question in almost every other Individual Politics thread about this topic.

If such a question is implied, it is not out of lack of effort on my part to avoid such. This was designed to be, if anything else, more a survey than a cue for debate to begin.
