This idea has been discussed since the last election. What do you think will happen? This video outlines how Collins can win both the primary and general pretty well.

He's favored to beat Brian Kemp in the primary and then yes, he can win the general too. That's not an unreasonable possibility at all.

Very informative video - I didn't realise quite how eloquent he was. So long as he can communicate that message to Georgia Republicans, he should have no problem dispatching Kemp.

Pure tossup for this one, though it’s lean Abrams if Kemp is renominated. Abrams could probably still pull this one off with ultra high democrat turnout, but she’d probably win by no more than 1% rather than like 3 or 4% against Kemp.

He'll do worse than Kemp in a general. It's a Dem midterm and so any types who'd be frothing for Collins over Kemp will be showing up anyway. Collins would lose a handful of incumbent-friendly moderate ATL suburbrons (to these types, Kemp isn't viewed as badly as some might think; compare him to someone like DeSantis who despite having a toxic campaign has largely avoided controversy while in office).

I could see Kemp losing by 1-1.5 points (might be within runoff terrain; the Libertarian average for the past two gubernatorials is 1.66 points) and Collins by like 2. In either case, a higher-than-average Libertarian vote could be present (whether it's Trump rubes protesting against Kemp or suburbrons protesting against Collins).
