Good afternoon, senators.

First I would like to thank President Bessell for nominating me. (It's less than two weeks, but here we are folks! All things eventually go according to plan. Devil ) And I thank the Senate for its time and consideration.

I understand that, while this will be a position I shall only hold for approximately a week and a half, I will devote my full time and responsibility to this position. The President of Congress is seldom a partisan job, and while a tiebreaking vote will likely not be needed in in the remainder of this session, the President and I have agreed that I may reserve the right to vote according to my conscience, which deviates little if at all from the philosophy of the present administration.

I am prepared to any questions, but I do understand the time-sensitive nature of the matter and so I will be diligent in addressing any concerns so that hopefully a vote may be open as quickly as possible.

Scott has my trust & full support as Vice-President. It's sad it will only be for a few weeks but I'm looking forward to him getting the chance to serve.
