Trump did the Patriot Party and whoever the Dem is walked to victory like it's 1912. Easy done.

If the vote were actually split between a Trump and non-Trump R candidate, both of whom were roughly equal in strength (as seen in the map), Biden would win ≥42 states. People underestimate the extent to which vote splitting harms the split party.

I suppose this map might exist in a world where Biden has some sort of credible left wing challenger taking votes from him too, who fails to take any states but has a decent baseline of support in all D states.

Yeah, if this were actually the results of a three way race, this would be a really embarrassing underperformance for the Democrats.

That would make this election an almost exact analogue to 1912. I wonder who the Eugene Debs of 2024 would be.

AOC is easily the biggest realist in the Justice Dem/Squad wing of the party so she wouldn’t do this. Maybe someone like Tlaib would tho

I doubt the Debs equivalent would be a member of Congress, to be honest. Yes it would be a lot easier for one to gain traction, but this scenario is already somewhat fanciful.

If it weren't for the fact that she has a decent shot of getting into congress I'd say Nina Turner

Depending on what OH's ballot laws are on simultaneously running for Congress & the presidency, it could still very well be.

The interesting part of the map isn't that there's a viable third party, but that the Republican was able to win a single state running against a non-duck Trump.
