Ironically this probably will set himself up for more problems as far as the Republican Party is concerned. It'd have been much tougher for them if he held back and waited to announce (de facto) his candidacy until 2023. Now his conservative opponents and power-hungry Republicans that would like to run in 2024 have years to undermine him while he lacks a real platform.

Does anything indicate that those cowards have the guts to do this? Even after January 6 the few who dared to criticize him only did so in the mildest of terms (particularly considering that he had spent months on a failed coup d'etat).

I have no idea whether he'll actually run or not, but if he does, I doubt there'll be any serious challengers.

At most he'll have Larry Hogan and/or Ben Sasse run against him in a futile effort to try and make the case of changing the party's direction.

Seriously, Woodbury should have to at least respond to the fact that he's still posting when he said he'd leave for a year if EITHER Ossoff or Warnock won.  Like, I think this should be a mod-enforceable thing, that he either explains himself or is banned.

Oh, he has, it's just that his "excuse" - if you could even call it that - is total & complete bullsh*t (or, rather, it was total & complete bullsh*t before it got deleted by a Mod as part of a reported post): that there was massive election fraud in GA & that Perdue & Loeffler were the ones who really won the runoffs.

What the actual f***?  Woodbury is such an idiot.

Besides complicating the 2022 midterms, he is probably trying to dispel any challengers (not that he really needs to do this in the first place)

The guy needs to be locked up before he can launch another assault on the USA and the world.

Also, if nominated again, Uncle Joe will defeat him again and likely by an even greater margin than in 2020.

Now you want to put your political opponents behind the bars, another new low. At least you are honest and you show how illiberal the left has become.

In that case, Bernie Sanders needs to be locked up for James Hodgkinson's actions.

Hopefully, he goes to war against some of these Republican incumbents who have turned on him and tries to actively unseat them in 2022, that would be entertaining.

Show us Bernie calling him to action & encouraging him to perpetrate the congressional baseball shooting (y'know, since that's what Trump did: calling his supporters to action & encouraging them to march on the Capitol), & we'll happily do so.

President Trump never said that anyone should break in and enter the Capitol, rather that people should gather in designated areas around/infront of the Capitol and protest, which everyone has a first amendment right to do so.

IN TRUMP'S ON WORDS: "march peacefully & patriotically....."

In anycase, Trump has already been aquited which means he is innocent of the charge.

Lol a partisan impeachment vote in the Senate (most bipartisan in history but still) does not mean he's actually innocent. The courts will decide on the actual evidence, not on the opinions of Republican voters. Plus, it hasn't been a year since Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock won yet.
