In GA, Ds failed to flip a single county D, and lost Burke County, which they have lost only one other time since 1992.

In FL, Ds flipped 3 highly populated urban/suburban counties. They flipped Pinellas back, and won Seminole for the 1st time since 1948 and Duval for the 1st time since 1976.

Guess the state Ds did better in by 5%.

One of the great disservices of the Electoral College to people's understanding of elections at any other level is that your margins matter just as much in safe constituencies as in typically swingy ones, and just as much where you lose as where you win. Even if Biden had held steady with Clinton in South Florida and flipped those three counties, he still would've been swamped by the sheer votes from the I-4 exurbs, which are only getting redder, and the panhandle, some of which is getting more favorable for Dems but not nearly enough to dent losses elsewhere.
