George W. Norris believed the Senate to be based on the nondemocratic British House of Lords. They also thought it was a waste of money The Houstonian said. Norris had visited Australia previously and the state of Queensland had previously abolished the upper house of their legislature.

All other states should follow suit - bicameral state legislatures are simply an extra layer of bureaucracy
