As I said earlier, one year is much too long. I understand the House doesn't want to gut this bill but my gut instinct is against implementing a regional lockdown period of anywhere near this length.

I'm firm on one year.

You should be tied to your irl state of residence, and the switching regions game defeats the purpose of having regions to begin with.  It's a crap way to game the system and win elections.  It's against the spirit of the game.

I think this is a fair compromise in place of having IRL residency requirements.  If an election cannot be won without this kind of "cheating" then it shouldn't be won.

I move for a final vote. 24 hours to object.

I don't know if I still can but since this has not been brought to a vote I wish to object and propose the following amendment:

Quote
Section III: Timing
1. The amended restriction shall apply to registrations taking place after March 31st, 2021

The main reason I propose this is so that all those Lincoln moves don't get stuck there for a year, since I assume this bill was proposed in response to that.

I'm fine with that. Also would be a lot of work for Peebs to go back and pick dates for everybody so having the current registrations be locked in isn't a great idea.

Hard to operate when situations like these present themselves.

Since the originator of the motion never followed up on it by opening the vote, I'm going to act at the discretion of the current presiding officer and void the motion (along with Ninja's objection). Also giving everyone 24 hours to object to Ninja's amendment.

I believe a new sponsor is needed. Probably MB since he wrote this.

I would really like to see this bill pass. If 1 year is too much, I think we should compromise to maybe 6 or 9 months. I've also been very much opposed to randomly moving regions, and while I would love to stay firm on 1 year like Harvey I also don't want the bill to fail.

No less than 1 year. Don't neuter this bill.

I also think 1 year is too long, 9 months as Razze outlined is preferable.

Seeing no objections, Ninja’s amendment is adopted.

Yeah I can take up sponsorship.

A further 24 hours to object to MB assuming sponsorship.

I was hoping to sponsor. I was co-sponsor.  I'm firm on getting this through at 1 year limit.

Yes, I object since you seem to be a supporter of less requirements regarding residency.

Don't support either clause in this bill. A year for regional moves is far too long in a game like this, and the delayed relocation would only foster confusion.
