DeSantis teaser ad shows his weakness

Things I noticed:
People are interacting with DeSantis via various forms digital media but never in a face to face setting. It seems he is trying to viewhimself as a martyr that is awakening the people.

Incredibly complex language and termonology, ruins any authentic populist perspectives and makes him sound like a texbook R from 2000.

The guy sounds boring, he doesn't excite anyone. It's really hard to come across as a fighter with his monotone voice that sounds like a documentary narrator.

It's still early and things can change, but if this is what his campaign is going to be like then Trump is likely going to cruise. I think even Haley is doing a better job than this.

The name of the ad made me think it would be a DeSantis-Trump karaoke duet:

Seriously though, those clips of people watching DeSantis on tv just scream stock footage. If that's the best speech they could find, then he won't be inspiring many people at all.

His voice is so f--king annoying. Sounds like a robot that literally doesn't know how to do anything but whine about "the woke mob." Say what you will about Trump, he's more than a one-trick pony and, as annoying and crass as he can be, he gets under the skin of supporters and opponents alike in a DEEP way which I just don't see Marco Robotio 2.0 ever doing despite his best efforts. Trump appeals to (and repulses) the inner animal spirit of humanity in a way this guy just is never, EVER going to be able to pull off. It's like Mitt Romney trying to do a Trump impression. Just was never gonna work out.

DeSantis may be too intelligent to win the GOP primary. It’s not at all clear that the base values policy wins over “owning the libs”. People calling him the Liz Warren of the Republican Party may have been on to something.

This reminds me how much of a strength it is that Trump isn't scripted and speaks in simple language. It's also a huge weakness-he makes loads of gaffes and can't keep to a message-but he never would have gotten far if he sounded as fake as normal politicians.
