Perdue obviously has some people who voted for him, who either voted for Warnock too or changed their mind before the second ballot- however I don't get how he's stronger than any other relatively normal state-wide offical.

His ethics problems mean that there's just so much low-hanging fruit which pretty much wipes out the advantages he might have.

Pretty remarkable for him to talk about the 'hallowed' floors a senate that has included Theodore G. Bilbo.

It's an extremely petty statement though; he can't even say I beat Senator Jon Ossoff- he refers to him as the 'democrat'.

Would be interested to hear from GA posters... my uneducated guess is that he’s stronger than some random MAGA step rep?

Baffling to think he’s stronger than other Georgia republicans who’ve actually won statewide or competitive races.

Especially considering the GOP just lost these seats because they had terrible campaigners with awful baggage

I remembered today we have the joy of seeing Walker because of the hilariously stupid decision to appoint Kelly Loeffler

Still baffles me how the Georgia GOP and national GOP groups let such an awful candidate like Walker run- especially after Loefller.

Its not as if they’re short of a bench statewide; I’m tempted to say even some random state office holder, judge or random GOP aide (see Alabama senate) would have been miles better.
