Yeah, Republicans nominating Herschel Walker is probably the only way they lose this seat, much like the Ken Buck/Christine O'Donnell nominations in 2010.

Hell, Marjorie Taylor Greene probably could win, and she's insane. (But she's also very unlikely to run).
Here y’all go again. This opinion is based on literally nothing. LOL.

Folks it's a Runoff state, anything can happen in a Runoff anyways but I wouldn't underestimate Herschel Walker and if I were the Rs in WI I wouldn't underestimate Mandel Barnes either

The only poll in WI are Ds leading Rs 48/44% and GA Walker leading WARNOCK 47/45

The States have been voting partisan Trends since 1996 except for 1992 GA D and 2020 GA D and every state in Midwest voted R in 1988 except for IA and WI that voted for Dukakis

Yes I'm aware of the news source, but it looks like Walker is out.

And just like that, Georgia's chances of flipping red have dipped considerably.

Disagree.

Warnock's an underdog to any serious Republican in a Biden midterm.

Walker wasn't a serious Republican.

Who are the serious Republicans in this race?

Also Warnock appears to be quite popular in GA.

Doesn't matter if the GOP is able to overturn the election.

Herschel Walker’s wife voted in Georgia (apparently illegally since the couple lives in Texas).  Voter fraud!

Herschel is a walking disaster at this point for the GA GOP. The funny thing is that their bench is just so bad.

The GOP won't care, but I imagine that this will make anyone whose capability of voting is threatened by Georgia voter suppression laws furious, as it should.

I've started donating to Warnock's campaign.

I rarely donate to politicians, but Warnock is too good and the prospects of a Republican Congress are too frightening not to do something, and I'm limited in what I can realistically do...but I can do this at least.

You can also start organizing and registering/educating people. Warnock has a lot of money and won’t be outspent in this race.

I got at least one person last cycle to support both Biden and Warnock/Ossoff in the runoff.

She’s a close friend and one who hadn’t voted for about a decade or more.

Beyond encouraging friends who I think might be open to voting blue, I’m not sure I can do much else.  I work almost all the time and don’t have time to canvass or work phone banks or whatever.

This. Lean D for now.

The GAGOP has a horrible bench for some reason. John Smoltz, Tom Glavine, John Rocker can't make it a race?

Herschel Walker is a stronger candidate than Gary Black. Tilt R.

Baffling to think he’s stronger than other Georgia republicans who’ve actually won statewide or competitive races.

Especially considering the GOP just lost these seats because they had terrible campaigners with awful baggage

GOP is better served with a more 'unconventional' candidate like Walker who has at least some potential to reshape coalitions/turnout patterns a little. Toss-up for now, but he really needs to break 50%+1 in November in order to win the seat.

Will be interesting how Walker handles the GOP talking points about voter fraud.

Moves from Lean D to Likely D.

I really don't think you can justify Hershel Walker moving the race in favor of the Dems. Dude is literally a god over there. Who the hell would perform better than him? David Perdue?

Anyone under 50 probably does not remember seeing him play at Georgia. He has not lived in the state for nearly 40 years. He has a ton of baggage including domestic abuse, mental health issues and the fact his wife may be facing voter fraud charges. On top of all that he has zero experience as a candidate. Republicans would be better off with a generic R candidate (yes that includes Perdue) than Walker IMHO.
