"Alben Barkley" (D-KY) vs. Rand Paul (R-KY), 2022 KY Senate election

As I just turned 30 a couple months ago, I am now old enough to run for Senate, which means in theory the earliest I could become a Senator is by defeating Rand Paul in 2022.

I am almost afraid to even see what the results of this poll will be, but I like to think that even those of you who don't like me would be able to swallow your pride enough to vote for me over Rand Paul of all people.

Let's just see how this goes...

I mean yeah the average age there is probably over 30 (especially as it's a 90s band), but that's the point, it's pretty clear people do moshing and hardcore dancing well past 20.

You are describing a small subculture, which could legitimately be described as "almost no one". Assuming 30-39 year olds are approximately 14% of the population in the US, in a metro area of 1 million people (say, Rochester or Tulsa), you would only need 2% of them to like a certain band/music subculture, and 20% of those to actually attend to fill the average live music venue to capacity... and that is assuming exactly 0 people in adjacent age groups are interested. Obviously, music tastes vary wildly with other factors too, like race, education level, and region, so in many areas, you could fill the same size room with a far smaller population or far fewer interested people.

If only 2% of the population held a certain political belief, nobody would hesitate to characterize those as very fringe beliefs that "almost no one" holds. The great thing about being an entertainer is that you don't need to have a massive following to fill a room, but that doesn't mean those 500 people in the room are anywhere near representative of a non-negligible slice of the population.
