Due to the vacancy caused by LT becoming Governor, the Class I Senate seat has been vacated and an appointment has been made:

Executive Order #2
Spark498 is appointed to serve as Class I Senator of the Southern Region.

The constitution requires legislative approval. No formal timeline is required, so unless there is an objection, I will start a final vote on the nomination in 24 hours. Delegates are welcome (and encouraged) to question the nominee, Spark!

Thank you Speaker Tmth. I'd first like to begin by thanking Governor LouisvilleThunder for his confidence in appointing me to complete the remainder of his term in the Senate. To this honorable body, I humbly ask for your consideration to serve as this region's next Senator. I am committed to serving this region and Atlasia in this capacity beyond this month as I am running for election to a full term on February 19th. I believe that the South deserves active public servants who will consider and keep the interests of all in mind.

As you may know, I am a moderate, and also sensible, and pragmatic. I won't hesitate to reach consensus when it is needed, but know I will stand up for my principles. That I can assure you. As for my experience that I will bring to the Senate, I served for 5 terms in this honorable Chamber of Delegates, and twice served as its Deputy Speaker. I've worked with members of the Chamber on multiple occasions. I always put the interests of constituents first before my own. Reliability is important for a legislator because citizens know that you can be counted on to advocate for them. I understand what it takes to be a leader, to draft, review, and gain consensus for legislation. I also was a Representative for one term. The South needs leadership at all levels especially Federalists to chart the course of Atlasia for the future. I am the right person to do that.

I am willing to be questioned regarding my qualifications or my previous experience. All inquiries are welcome.

I don't think this is relevant anymore since Spark has served in the Chamber after finishing his sentence without causing any problems, but I'll let him reassure the Chamber himself.

I appreciate the question.

I accept the consequences of my actions but to clarify, I was not in any office at the time. I respect the powers that are confined within my office and served the time that was necessary for that offense as a citizen. Past players within this game have been active participants after such situations and it has not affected me in my previous capacities in the game since that time. It's important to learn from mistakes and not repeat them and that is what I have done. I've conducted myself with integrity while in office and plan to continue to do so in the future.
