As an old I felt it would be fair to limit my list to youthful endeavors. Only count these if they happened before you turned 21.

Working catapult is awfully tempting for a joke about your old age. Smiley

The Great American Eclipse of 2017 happened when I was 20.

Both of the first two also happened to me during my elementary school career; the first because I gave a (heavily-accented, this was when my English was quite poor and I certainly couldn't parse a newspaper meant for adult readers) speech at an event commemorating the money my school district had raised for victims of the Indian Ocean tsunami of 2004. The poetry anthology also happened in elementary school, although several years later. My parents still have the newspaper and magazine clippings.

Otherwise, no, though I guess there is still time for some of my teachers/professors to be elected to the US Senate. I took multiple classes taught by former SCOTUS clerks in law school, which is a category that gets elected to the U.S. Senate at well above the background rate, but all of those happened after I turned 21.

EDIT: I was on television many times during high school, as I was a student sports commentator and was also a multiple-time contestant from my high school on Academic Challenge, but that happened in 10th-12th grades. I was never on television prior to the 6th grade, though by not allowing me my whole life before age 21 I feel as though I'm being cheated out of that one.

there was an eclipse when I was in grade school, but that was before science was cool so they didn't let us go see it.  Jerks.

Only #6. Best part is it wasn't just a catapult, it was a robotic catapult made from some Lego kit Tongue

I would also have the TV one if it wasn't "while in grade school". I was interviewed once for Castille and Leon's regional TV, but I was 19 years old at the time so it does not count

Adjectives as nouns - Atlas staple.

Holy heck, muon, you did a lot before you were 21.  None of these for me.

Hope all is well.

I'm contemplating what my ten would be from my second 21 years.

So far so good, staying healthy, still traveling but with appropriate care. Semi-retirement can be quite satisfying.

#6 - Unless I'm disqualified for using Lego Technics or K'Nex.

I didn't specify the material, so it can count. In my case it was all from wood and fiber to make a scale-model torsion onager as a project for both my high school physics class and also my world history class. The model was on about an 15" x 30" base frame IIRC and the arm and sling could launch a ball about 30'.

If you don't mind me asking, who was the future Senator who taught you?

I think I can guess, but I will not speculate. My Dad's best friend used to hunt with Mike Mansfield in Montana. Fancy that. Smiley

So here's the thread where I can complain about how a huge thunderstorm rolled in just minutes before totality during the 2017 eclipse.

I had waited half of my life at the time for that...little eight-year-old me in 2009 being amazed by the discovery that I lived right in the path, and that's what I got for it.

I took a political science course on presidential elections at Carleton College in the fall of 1976. Dr. Paul Wellstone was one of the lecturers.

That was the fate of my brother and his family in Smithville, so I'm guessing you weren't that far away from there. With planning and travel flexibility you should be able to see the one in 2024.

As for me, my first was Feb 26, 1979 in Winnipeg. A number of us chartered a bus from college in Northfield MN to see it.

Just 3; my kindergarten class waved goodbye to the cameras at the end of a local newscast after getting a tour Smiley

I have been in newspapers a handful of times but not before the age of 3.5, to my knowledge.

None except built a catapult for a science project in 7th grade, obviously a very small one though.

Pretty close, yes. They were almost far enough east to see it. I made a map by asking a lot of people where they were afterward. The line was roughly along MO-169. In Liberty it was a nearly-clear sky.

I only know about my picture in the local Des Plaines IL newspaper since my mother had clipped it and put it in a photo album. For some odd reason the newspaper decided to use my picture on a blurb about how our family had just moved to town. I was 1 at the time.

My 5th and 6th grade classes in Des Moines IA were used for a local educational program on what was then KDPS-TV. It was a magnet class with only 12 students, so it worked well for the small studio size.

For the record, the events in my list are in chronological order for me.

NOTA, though I've appeared on television twice in my life.

performed for the halftime at an NFL game?

I've narrowed down Muon's identity to Justin Timberlake, Paul McCartney, or Bruno Mars.
