White Sox aren't beating Giants or Dodgers

You know Dodgers have beaten Giants at Giants Std in a Series Dodgers can beat Giants

I have Dodgers v Tampa Bay again and Dodgers winning

The only reason why they Sox won in 2005 they had Mark Buerhle and Paul Korneko

Sad to see the Mariners fall this season. Would've been joyous to see the tears had the Red Sox fallen instead.

I truly loathe one game playoffs, so I'm in favor of the Giants and Rays in the ALDS, although not really interested in having either in the WS. Dunno how much I'm going to watch if at all.

I am not saying that no one else can win, but Baseball and Basketball isn't football where underdogs win titles like Eagles and NY Giants

Dodgers, Giants and Lakers own Baseball and Basketball, Best team usually win and Lakers are gonna make a run for 73/9 Warriors best record, Suns, Bucks and Nets are the only teams that can beat AD, Westbrook and LeBron in the regular season

Congratulations to the Granite City Cards on winning the Atlas fantasy league, I doubt I can score 160+ points to win in two days.  Cheesy

Idk what's up with all these easterners in this thread who seem unjustifiably confident in their under-100 wild card meme teams.

I'm not confident (as a Cards fan).  Hope, sure.  We're playing with house money, it's one game.  If a hitter or two is hot (and many Cardinal bats are, you might have noticed) or if the pitcher is just on (ours is a vet that has been here many times), anything can happen in a one game playoff.
Which is stupid for baseball, at least make it a best of three.

538 lists the odds of each World Series matchup.  The most likely is Dodgers-Rays at 12.6%, the least likely is Cardinals-Red Sox at 0.4%.

Yeah, the baseball postseason is basically random, which is why it's so stupid that the people who run baseball keep trying to make it bigger.

Agreee, but the Wild Card round should be three games at least.

Boone's not under contract for 2022 yet, so yeah, he's probably gone.

Unless Cashman's got an expiring contact I'm not aware of, I think his job is safe, as the Yankees have gotten a lot more skittish about firing managers and general managers since George Steinbrenner died.

I don't think the Red Sox are better than the Yankees (literally just swept them in Fenway a week ago with DJLM), but I am grateful for this result to put the pressure on the Boone firing. Certainly neither one of these teams is very good and at best a very distant 5th best in the American League.

Hopefully the Joey Gallo experiment is also over. I'm sure he's going to start crushing again somewhere else next year but having a clean up hitter batting a buck 99 in a playoff scenario is an utterly disgraceful decision.

Yankees had everything in their favor - facing the team who couldn't sniff us since July, the ace pitcher in a one game playoff scenario, a team nearing a +200 run differential being left out - and still the manager finds a way to grossly mismanage (among other lacking efforts).

I wish the Red Sox the best as they face the most evil franchise in pro sports next round. Our prayers are with them.

As far as I know, the Rays are the only organization in professional sports to contain a member of the Atlas Forum community.

Wait, a player/coach/front office staff/member of ownership of the Tampa Bay Rays posts here and I didn't notice?

The Yankees don't go outside the Family (or at least the NYC baseball known commodities) and especially won't for that country bumpkin.

Carlos Beltrán will probably be the first choice. Cheating scandal certainly hasn't plagued Alex Cora who has tremendous job security now. Maybe Miguel Cairo? I've had it with these inexperienced managers though personally. I don't think they will be anything more than pawns.

Phil Nevin cost himself a look last night. I don't know if poaching Mattingly is much of an upgrade given his track record. Girardi would be beneficial for both parties but a tough reunion to make happen. Is Buck Showalter our Tony LaRussa?

Some people think Hal and the family should sell the team and move on with their lives because they don't seem interested in baseball business like their father did.

They can run their hotel and horse business....they'd still be rich.

Cashman may move on and retire and live in Connecticut happy, or he could run for office down the line...
