Wander Franco has now reached base in 36 straight games.

I wonder how many votes he'll get for AL Rookie of the Year.

Again, the Cards are a mess, only have Molina left from title yrs

You Know I am not saying we should consolidate teams but Dodgers, Giants, Warriors, Lakers, Tampa, KC, Packers and Rams and Chargers on the only dominant teams left due to the Pandemic

The talent from College isn't good enough to match the Free Agency market, due to online schooling

Those are the only teams left to win titles and Lakers are gonna dominate so badly the NBA with Anthony Davis and Westbrook and LeBron they are gonna be on par with Warrior 73(9 team

Wildcard Dodgers, there's not many games left to close on on Giants, and Giants probably win the World Series which I can take, I was a Warriors fan

SF needs something they don't have Hollywood and Miners should of beaten Chiefs or Niners Should of beaten Ravens in Superbowls anyways

Bellinger is a dud and Pollack is injured, they needed a backup Catcher but Barnes overperformed during that period with Homers

Lux, Turner, Seagar free agents I don't see how they keep Bellinger whims a dud anyways, his arm is messed up that why he can't play first

Call me old-school, but I don't care what your pitch count is, you don't take out a pitcher with a no-hitter after 8 innings

The single-season record of MLB no-nos has been broken, as Brewers RHP Corbin Burnes (8 innings) and LHP Josh Hader (1 inning) teamed up to no-hit the soon-to-be Guardians 3-0 for the 9th MLB no-hitter this year.

Time to move the mound back ten feet.

Even with him being removed after 8, I feel like Burnes has to be the Cy Young favorite now? Ofc MLB/baseball journalists love the Dodgers and are constantly throwing awards at them so it may not happen, but as of this moment I feel he easily deserves it the most.

The Dodgers are back down to 2.5 games behind the Giants. 538 has the Giants at their highest odds of winning the division yet (not like Silver has ever been right about anything involving baseball ever). They've won nine of their last ten games, and they just completed their second sweep in a row.

It's all coming together. By my calculation they only need to win 11 of the next 19 games to beat the Dodgers in the division (and they'll probably manage better than that at this rate).

The Mets lost to both SF Giants and Giants they won't beat them in playoffs   14/2 shellacking by Dodgers.  Justin Turner knows the Mets very well that's why they beat the Mets

The Cardinals may just be in this playoff chase. Hopefully they make it to the WC Game.

Thank you for making Aaron Boone this much closer to being fired. Easily the worst manager I've had to endure from any favorite team in any sport (though my college football team's coach tests me, it's not a particularly close second). Not fun as a player and so much worse as a coach.

The Yankees have certainly underachieved this season, which got me to wondering: which teams have overachieved the most (the Giants, obviously) and underachieved the most?  I took the pre-season 538 projections and compared them to the current standings; these are not directly comparable because the season isn't over, but they're close.

Biggest overachievers:

Giants +57 !!!
Mariners +27
Brewers +26
Rays +21
Rockies +20

Biggest underachievers:

Diamondbacks -39
Twins -35
Nationals -31
Padres -20
Yankees -17

In the tables below, the first pair of numbers is the team's actual current record, and the second pair is the 538 preseason projected record from these articles:

An assistant coach on my high school baseball team was Bill Pecota's brother-in-law. He was of course shocked to learn that I knew who Billy was, and so I had to explain that it was because of PECOTA.

Giants are now the first team to clinch a playoff slot though. Given that Silver had them at the same odds as the Diamondbacks at the beginning of this season, that's a huge embarrassment for all the "analytics" nerds.

It's up to the Braves to beat the Giants because the SF Giants and Dodgers are gonna beat up on Padres and DBacks

DBacks have nothing but Rookies, they are a far cry when they upset Yankees in 2001/ Wrld Series

Manny Machado should of stayed with DODGERS, he left
