The Braves just finished off a 9-0 road trip, admittedly against weak competition (the Nationals, Marlins, and Orioles).  It was the team's 12th straight road win, breaking a franchise record that had stood since 1890.

Meanwhile, the Orioles lost their 18th consecutive game, which is amazingly NOT a franchise record; the 1988 O's hold the AL record of losing 21 straight.

Phils can't keep on wasting good pitching like this. Losing last night when Nola was a pitch away from a complete game (and perfect thru 6!) is unacceptable. Also benching Bohm instead of Miller, what are they thinking?

Dodgers got shellshocked by Mets today, and Braves aren't playing the weakling Orioles anymore they play Yankees and Dodgers and Giants this week, let's see what they are made of they're not gonna get swept but each of those series they can lose but split against Yankee

The Dodgers didn't play these Eastern teams in a shorten season last yr, that's why they easily won the title last yr, they will have to beat the East aside from Atlanta like Phillies to advance especially of they are a Wildcard team, they go long stretches without scoring runs

We all know about Miggy's big day, but Joey Votto 🇮🇹🇨🇦, one of the hottest hitters in the National League leading the resurgent Reds into playoff position, joined the less prestigious but still essential 2,000 hit club last week. The peak dominance was already enough to make him the third surefire HoF 1B of his generation despite lacking compiled career totals like his two senior peers. But now he at least has the theoretical minimum hit threshold required of all modern era HoF position players with a few years to chase a longshot bid at 400 dingers.

(*Technically 12 hits behind Maz, or if you prefer legitimate elections, 44 behind Bench*)

Love me some Joey Votto too! Great Italo-Canadian hero! Lynn and Votto eh, great minds really do think alike!

Anyways, Joey Votto is one of my absolute favorites, and with the Mets essentially out of contention I will absolutely cheer for the Reds in the playoffs. It's been a pleasure to see him resurge. What a wonderful career he's put together.

Baserunning!!! An unforgettable part of the offense that few of the players coming up today know about in this age of boom and bust, exit velocity and 500 foot bombs. Have you ever heard of a hit-and-run? A run-and-hit? Taking the extra bag and staying on it?

I love the umps!

(And respect to Freddie Freeman - safe or out - love a first baseman that runs the bases with so much passion)

*waves*

And in response to Sprouts, it was a great play and I’m all for going for it in that situation, no matter how it turns out. I did think he was safe (the one angle showing both his foot and the tag seemed to show he beat the tag by a hair) but it probably wasn’t decisive enough to overturn the call.

Is there a bigger bum in the history of sport than Aroldis Chapman? How many more years to I have to watch this guy sweating like a dog and giving away games? The obvious move was to go to Wandy from the get-go, but managing is not Aaron Boone's strong suit.

The umps were particularly bad in that game (both ways).

Umps only work 6 mnths out the yr, they are definitely authoritarian, I had a youth church councelor that was authoritarian and he was an Ump

That's why most people don't become Umps or Reps you can't be a chicken hawk, you have to be authoritarian, that's why there has been widespread cheating with Umps since Jordan and Umps have gambled on games

Umps cheated before then and gave Joe Montana, benefit of calls and pass interference, but Jordan broke the rules on gambling in sports and Ref Hue Hollins gave way when they called a bad call on Puppen to cheating.
Charles Barkley admitted to cheating in sports and Refs and he gambled

The Cuomo curse is over for the Yankees.......they can win a World Series now, we have a Democratic president, a governor not named Cuomo, de Blasio is not in office anymore for now, 2021-2022-2023 is the window in the Aaron Boone era.....

ESPN has an article up arguing that this losing streak was the worst stretch of baseball by any team in modern MLB history.

Giants continue to lose to mediocre teams; really don't see the division lead holding playing like this. Need to get out of this funk fast.
