Manfred has been making some noises over the last few days that the seven inning doubleheaders and the Manfredball extras might not be returning next year. That being said he also sounded very flaky and said a lot of stuff like “oh it’s not a priority but MLBPA might push for it” etc. Might be less of a sincere commitment and more an attempt to use it as a lightning rod to direct fan dissatisfaction to the MLBPA instead of him. Still, somewhat promising.

I'd keep the runners on second in extra innings.

Seven inning double headers have to go though.

Agree with getting rid of the 7-inning doubleheader rule (it robbed two no-hitters). As for the extra inning runner on second rule, keep it but move it to the beginning of the 12th and onwards as to when it takes effect.

It's not great news, the Games are gonna go back to 20 innings, everyone leaves the ballgame after the 7th inning anyways

The NL didn't do anything in That All Star Game

I don't think there's been a 20-inning (or more) game in the majors since the 2013 game where the Marlins beat the Mets in 20.

Dodgers and Cubs and Giants and Astros have been known to go extra innings and the 2017 Wrld Series between Dodgers and Houston in games went on forever, because Astros and Dodgers are the same

They don't strike out that much, look what happened to Dodgers and Houston this past weekend all come from behind wins with homers, if they go at it again there's extra innings this yr and next not 20 but 12/15 like it did in 2017 Game 5, without the runner on second

Yeah, I'm not going to actively consume baseball for as long as Manfred rules remain intact. I did write something about the created "necessity" for those rules a couple months ago that a couple people here have found to be of interest: https://naveedchowdhury.wordpress.com/2021/05/31/the-managerial-revolution/

Most people tune out on baseball anyways when NFL season once September roles around I don't watch that many baseball games only watch the Dodgers to see if they win the World Series, just like Rams are contenders to Superbowl since Rodgers is AWOL IN GB

Rodgers is so afraid of the Chiefs, Bucs and Rams he doesn't want to play, you don't see Brady or Mahomes leaving their teams because Stafford went to the Rams and Rams are the FAVS DUE TO SUPERBOWL IN LAX

But, if the BUCS DONT WIN THIS YR, AND RAMS DO, THIS IS PROBABLY BRADY'S LAST YR

I guess I'm rooting for the Padres this year as the underdog market and team of the NL west.

Worst thing about this season is the Red Sox being a WS threat. Best thing is probably the Yankees embarrassing themselves and the dBacks. Not that I have anything against the latter but I like clearly losing teams that aren't the Indians.

The Cubs fire sale has begun.

The Chicago Cubs trade Outfielder Joc Pederson to the Atlanta Braves for Minor League First Baseman Bryce Ball.

Yeah, as long as fans keep coming to ballpark, they don't even care, as long as they won that Word Series against Cleveland Indians fans are gonna keep coming to Wrigley instead of Sox park

Mark Pryor and Joe Maddon are in LA like I am optimistic about their teams

Bulls, Cubs are no good, just like after the Derrick Rose and Jo Kim Noah era

As of July 30th, the Toronto Blue Jays make a return to their home stadium in Toronto, ON, Canada. The Blue Jays have had to relocate to Buffalo, NY and Dunedin, FL due to US/Canada Border travel restrictions for non-essential travel over the past year-plus.

The Braves are getting really busy ahead of the trading deadline.

The Atlanta Braves acquires Catcher Stephen Vogt from the Oakland Athletics, sending Minor League First Baseman Mason Berne to Oakland.

Just watched the end of Phillies @ Yankees for the heck of it, but I was DISGUSTED by the initial placement of a runner at second during extra innings. That's pure cheating. It's not about the Yankees winning because I was tuning in for fun and not rooting for or against anyone. It's an insult to the game of baseball to have all these cheat codes still in effect. This is supposed to be professional baseball and they are playing less seriously than many little leaguers.

First and probably last time I'll be tuning in this season.

Ken Jansen is getting old I remember he gave the Astros the World Series in 2017 to Altuve, the threat is always the Astros, they are the most dangerous team to the Dodgers not Boston or the Yankees, it's time to look for another save guy, not this yr but for the future

Giants are our Cali team, but they are so much like the Astros

Another blown save by Jansen

The Dodgers need another closer but they don't want to trade their prizes starting pitcher to do it Hosting, Buerler and look whom got hurt all of a sudden , no surprise Mookie Betts

I have said Betts is too skinny he needs to Bulk up now he is on a title team
