Considering only women who were head of state or government in liberal democracies for more than one year. Not considering queens and empresses. Not considering leaders of subnational governments (states and municipalities). Not considering presidents who are just figurheads and not considering prime ministers of countries in which the president is more powerful.

Maybe Bachelet, maybe Ardern. If Ardern left office today I’d say her, but I think it’s still too early to say.

I voted for Michelle Bachelet, although I don't necessarily love her.

Well, you should.

I am obviously not familiar with every one of them but Bachelet in terms of left-wing policy is easily the best president Chile has had since Allende and unlike him, her achievements (like most of the little welfare chile has, free higher education for the poor, public education, clean energy, putting the new constitution idea in the political mainstream) will endure.

Also, Benazir Bhutto has a lot of problems, but her responding to death threads by Islamist that they will burn in hell if they kill a woman is just badass. (sadly they succedeed)

My favs are Bachelet, Ardern and Jakobsdóttir

I voted for Michelle Bachelet, although I don't necessarily love her.

Bachelet is one of the nicest persons that you can imagine,  even though the balance of her terms as president is mixed (not entirely her fault and still the best of Chilean presidents in modern history). My vote is for her, too

Also, Benazir Bhutto has a lot of problems, but her responding to death threads by Islamist that they will burn in hell if they kill a woman is just badass. (sadly they succedeed)

Her death was tragic but I don't think corrupt elites are the best antidote for Islamism, tbh
