Likely R will move to Tossup if I.Mandel is the nominee, he is weak and lost to Brown, I will happily donate to Ryan campaign if Mandel is the nominee

Will his discount Hawley schit work ? Find out next time in 2022.

Yeah, I refuse to get downright cautiously optimistic for the OH Dems, but if Mandel is really intent on running a hilariously bad campaign anchored on a message of "Trump was the rightful winner," then who knows?

Mandel can win this but he's already had two shots. I think someone else will probably win the primary over him. He's always sounded a little too shrill compared to appropriate for the context.

There is gonna be Split voting, this Election, just because Rs won OH doesn't mean that Ryan can't win, as well as PA just because Dems won the state doesn't mean it will go D for Gov, Fetterman will win, but Rs can win Gov race. Also, AZ Gov can go R and AZ Mark Kelly can win  as well as GA with Kemp and Warnock and Sununu can win in NH

Tim Ryan will beat Mandel he's a poor candidat

MANDEL IS A GIFT TO DS JUST LIKE STRICKLAND WAS TO Portman

But, since Evers legalized weed, WI as well as MI will stay D and we are gonna beat Ron Johnson

I've always liked Mandel (and his 2012 Senate campaign was the first one I ever volunteered for), so he tentatively has my vote, in spite of my generally anti-Trump valence.

If Mandel was so great he lost by six pts and was trailing badly in polls by double digits, even Rassy had Mandel behind by 10 to BROWN

It's 21 mnths til the Election anyways but safe R OH , 9 pts ismt safe when Rs lost the state in 2008/2012/ OH isn't IA

This seat isn't home, it will be competetive, OH split it's vote for Gov and Senate in 2018 Lean Ryan over Mandel, but it's wave insurance

I suppose someone somewhere has to like Mandel.  You must be that person Tongue

I still don’t understand why a state chair is a good candidate for a U.S. Senate seat? What about the several congresspeople and row officers with elected experience and a more front-and-center role in politics?

Rs have to watch this seat DeWine having served as Senator has crossover appeal with Dems as a Maverick, if Josh Mandel, just like with Newsom in CA, D's have to watch, Rs he can be a liability.

OH split it's votes in 2018, between Gov and Senate.

Dems need Josh Mandel to win the nomination

Look at that KY poll which is similar to OH, if Rand Paul is underperforming so can Mandel

No, Mandel’s basically the Ohio version of Josh Hawley except with the “likability” of Ted Cruz.  He’s weaker than generic Trumpist.

LeBron ain't running after all, and neither is Nina Turner (which I feel like was obvious in the first place).

Gonna guess the matchup will be Mandel vs Ryan, or maybe Timken vs Ryan.

Forgive me if he has and I've missed it, but I'm surprised Warren Davidson isn't considering a bid.

He is, as are Stivers, Matt Dolan, Frank LaRose, Bill Johnson, Mike Turner, Brad Weinstrup, and David Joyce last I checked.  It could turn out to be just Mandel and Timken, but I doubt it.

Looks like Trump was ready to endorse Timken, but was talked out of it because it’s too early in the race:

D's don't have to win OH but if GA goes to a runoff they think they can win NC with Jeff Jackson to solidify 52 seats to bypass Sinema and Manchin, on the Filibuster but if Mandel is the nominee, Ryan will win

Same with FL with Rubio and DeSANTIS, it's the icing on the cake, but Biden at 57% approvals and not 47% anymore with a rebounding Economy a wave is developing instead of net loss of seats.  That's why Warren and D's are openingly talking about Filibuster reform, and wealth tax, not this term but 2023, they are confident about 52 seats
