Honestly this is very scary. It would be a horrible fate for the people of Arkansas for her to become Governor. Honestly, if I lived in Arkansas, I would definitely be voting in the Republican primary in 2022 to help stop her.

I thank God every day that I no longer live in the hellscape known as the State of Arkansas.

If only Alabama hadn't just elected the football coach who doesn't know what the 3 branches of government are to represent them in the Senate, the former Press Secretary who made a living off of lying to the nation could very well have won Arkansas the race to the bottom.

What an existentially draining time to be alive.

She's far from the first candidate to declare, evidently, but I fear that she could win by plurality over a splintered "people who've actually held elected office and maybe understand it" vote, not that even that's saying too much in a one-party state.

Arkansas has runoffs for primaries.

I watched the first 2 minutes of her announcement video and both laughed hard and cringed hard before turning it off.

Yeah, this is hers if she wants it. I actually think her father is not bad for an Evangelical Republican, and comes across as a genuinely nice person, but sadly she is far, far worse than him.

Sarah is VERY STRONG at the now 100% SECURE border (Thank you President T) to stop illegals and the China virus, supports EXTREME VETTING (which is very good for the U.S.A.), totally takes care of our GREAT vets, protects your 2A and has my complete and total endorsement!

Yeah she’s a shoe in, sadly. I just hope Asa Hutchinson runs for senate and soon. He’s too good for Arkansas but would make a damn good federal representative from Arkansas

Let's not forget that her dad was governor for 10+ years, y'all.  She has more local, institutional advantages (like another statewide official would have) than a random carpetbagger.

He already did that in 1986.

Hutchinson lost to the late Dale Bumpers, when Arkansas was still a largely Democratic state downballot. Interestingly enough, he is one of two currently serving Republican Governors in the South who previously ran for the U.S. Senate and lost in 1986. The other one is South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster, who was defeated by that state's last Democratic Senator to date, the late Fritz Hollings.

For some reason, several states, both red and blue, like to elect children of governors to the position as well. Andy Beshear, Andrew Cuomo, Jerry Brown, Mitt Romney,...

Very good video - wasn't always a fan of her but gotta admit it had some compelling moments and made a good starting case. I see she has already secured Pompeo's endorsement and I expect Trump's to come soon. Should quickly clear the field in the primary and will win by 20 points+ in the general.

Why not just burn the entire state to the ground? That would be less damaging than a liar with no political experience running it. Being press secretary is not experience to be Governor.

Romney notably being the child of another state's Governor (before going on to become the Senator from yet another state).

Can the AR GOP not work out some agreement? They’ve got an LG and AG who are both fairly young, but experienced. I’m sure they’re both pretty Trump-positive, but I’d take either of them over Sanders.

It will never cease to amaze me that Trump, who ran initially on ending the Bush dynasty, has spawned so many dynasties of his own. The Trumps, the Huckabees, DeVos - he’s given new political life to grifters all over the country.

Maybe a child of another former Arkansas Governor can run here instead of NY-17. /s
