A cancer. Any leftist with an ounce of sense needs to avoid him at all costs.
To be fair, I don't think any actual leftists do like him. His fanbase seems to mostly consist of right-wingers who love to cite him and hold him up as an example of "what progressives should be like" and weirdo contrarians who stan Tulsi Gabbard.
I can confirm that this is not true. Jimmy Dore in some American Socialist circles has been viewed as sort of a beltway to “real socialism” in his commitment against the Democratic Party, anti-imperialist lines, and platforming non-establishment activists. The recent #ForceTheVote movement he helped to further popularize garnered very much a lot of respect.
Now, his style does attract vulgar types that can be easily misled and entrapped by people like Tulsi Gabbard, who rather was skilled in getting fools to vote for her. However, I don’t see Jimmy Dore as having the warning signs of being noticeably open as social conservative, having an insincere rightist bent in his early career, or being respected by established conservative public figures like Tulsi Gabbard was.
Now, from what I’ve seen of him on my feed, he doesn’t seem to be a NazBol or some ardent Stalinist. He clearly isn’t that well read or some paragon of theoretical ability and practicality in politics. Nor is the chance of him being a careerist not there. I’m pretty sure he’s not incredibly hiding his true beliefs much or something.
His recent video targeting the SEP cargo cultists seemed pretty good and affirming of what I’ve seen of him. He appears quite genuine and knows his line of work well, and he has a loyal niche that in itself is quite diverse. I don’t think accusing all his viewerbase of being Nazbol or conservatives hating the Democratic Party is fair here.
