I actually watched TFG's speech tonight, first time I have seen more than clips of him speaking since Jan 6, 2021, and he was not happy. Somebody who agreed to this is going to get their @ss chewed.

Trump's brain is going. He can barely read a teleprompter. The Libertarians chewed him up and spit him out.

I wonder if a bunch of Libertarians are going to vote Biden just to spite Trump now

Seriously recommend you watch like 15-20 minutes of him like once a month. It's good to get an accurate idea of how much his skills have eroded since 2016.

Who on Trump’s team (or anyone else) thought this could possibly be a good idea?

I know but I just can't do it, it just pi$$es me off too much. I only watched tonight because I suspected he would get booed.

It was never going to be a good crowd for Trump. Libertarian Party convention delegates are full of the real Libertarian true believers. Real idiot types. It would be like Biden speaking at a Green Party convention.

There are many types of idiots with political preferences, Trump seems to have discovered here that not all of them are automatically his type of idiots.

The vote looks like it will start in about an hour. Nomination for Trump was disallowed, but RFK Jr. was allowed. IMO Oliver, Rectenwald, and Ter Maat looked good at the debate yesterday, we'll see how that affects things. Olivier is a surprisingly non serious candidate, missing the debate.

Damn, I thought RFK Jr. lost his chance. Seems not, though I doubt he'll be nominated. I think it'll be Chase Oliver, since Ballay only won Cali due to being unopposed.

My only issue with Oliver at the debate is that he can sway a lot when speaking, it's an odd quirk that makes his delivery much less effective. Ballay is inoffensive but not very charismatic.

Okay then, weird.

Anyway, has balloting started and wikipedia just hasn't updated it, or...?

Given a lot of non-Rectenwald people are people hostile to Mises Caucus, could probably end up a bit of a nailbiter by the end. Rectenwald doesn't need to win over THAT many of the remaining delegates but going from 30% to 50% is still not a shoo-in.

Who's non-Mises and stands the best chance of beating Rectenwald, Oliver?

Probably Mike Ter Maat or Lars Mapstead, Oliver is too hardline anti-Mises to attract much crossover support. Most of the Smith and Hornberger votes should go to Rectenwald and that would put him around 40% even if none of the other blocs went his way.

Things don't appear to be going smoothly for Trump at the LP convention.

There needs to be more organized heckling of Trump. Such a little b**** when confronted in any way. I don't like what the LP has become but glad that even they have the good sense to boo him when he brags about getting indicted and promises to put a libertarian in the cabinet. And LOL at the rubber chickens.

I saw a comment on Twitter that the Secret Service wouldn't allow the chickens in because they were afraid of another coop attempt. Wink

Should probably wrap it up. Would be rather embarrassing were Rectenwald to win now.

I assume these are new votes each round rather than a ranked choice ballot where everything is baked in from the start?

I assume so, otherwise it wouldn't take this long.
