From CNN's Kaitlan Collins.

Quote
Anthony Scaramucci said he was invited to President Trump's farewell ceremony at Joint Base Andrews Wednesday, in what he says is a sign the White House is desperate for guests.

"They’re looking for people. Trust me, that had to be a mass email if one of them got sent to me," the President's former communications director turned critic told Inside Edition Monday. Scaramucci confirmed to CNN he had received an invitation via email Sunday night.

While the White House hasn't said how many people were invited, a few guests who were told CNN they likely would not attend, whether because of travel restrictions or the fallout from the President's involvement in the attack on the US Capitol.

Given his public criticism of his former boss, Scaramucci said this is a sign of their desperation to have guests present. CNN has reported that that few people have RSVP'ed so far.

Who would want to attend President Trump's farewell party.
The sooner he is forgotten, the better.

It's going to be like watching a bombing stand-up comedian, isn't it? That's entertaining to me though, that's the kind of thing he deserves. Meanwhile Biden's inauguration is going to be like an Oscars' red carpet event. That's some high quality schadenfreude!

Guests need to arrive at 7:15am for an 8:00am ceremony in a part of the metro area where none of Trump's supporters live. That is a lot to ask.

I guess departing with a sparse crowd would be a fitting ending given how his inauguration went.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

This presidency is ending exactly as it began.

Maybe they should invite Sean Spicer, so that afterwards, Spicer can embarrass himself (again) and claim ...
"This was the largest audience to ever witness a presidential farewell ceremony, PERIOD, both in person and around the globe.”

* Look, there you have this loser named Trump, who can't even have people showing up for his farewell. And by the way, why does he even have a farewell? Nobody wants to see all these losers. Nobody, believe me. We all had enough. He lost the election. I mean, he lost in a landslide. By a tremendous margin. 81 million people going against him. Think of that, 81 million! He lost big league. So I never liked that much after, okay? Because I don't like losers. I hate tell you, but it's true. He's a loser. The people told him "you're fired!" Fired! And now he got fired and wants to do a farewell? Give me a break. So he is going to have his farewell and nobody showing up. Or they have paid deplorables. Remember the term deplorable? That's what they are. Nobody wants to say it, but it's true. What they have done to our country on January 6, it's unbelievable. They did tremendous harm. You know - and you're not supposed to say this, but I do it anyway because I don't want to be politically correct, and we don't want politically correct - in the old days, they would have handled these thugs differently. Much differently. A hundred percent, they would have been in big, fat trouble. So anyway, we gonna see what happens, but this is a total loser we never want to see again. He's going to have very low ratings, that I can tell you. *

Pence not expected to attend Trump's departure ceremony tomorrow, sources say.
From CNN's Jim Acosta

Vice President Mike Pence is not expected to attend President Trump's departure ceremony at Joint Base Andrews, according to two Pence sources.

Logistically, the sources said it would be difficult for Pence to be at Joint Base Andrews for Trump's sendoff and attend President-elect Joe Biden's inaugural, as the outgoing vice president is expected to do.

Trump will depart the White House South Lawn via Marine One for Joint Base Andrews early tomorrow morning, giving Pence a chance to bid farewell to the President then.

Being ignored by Mike Pence feels like the twist ending of Donald Trump's personal Twilight Zone episode.

The man who had made news headlines every day for four years, utterly ignored by the country he had led.

I mean, Trump basically put out a hit against Pence so it’s no surprise the VP is skipping.

Additional news on this ...

Quote
From CNN's Kaitlan Collins, Jim Acosta, Kevin Liptak, and Kate Bennett

... Trump's former chief of staff John Kelly recently told CNN's Jake Tapper he'd vote to remove Trump from office if he could — yet he was still invited to the event.

So was Don McGahn, the former White House counsel who angered Trump by sitting down with Robert Mueller's team for hours. Other former senior aides who have maintained good relationships with Trump, like his first chief of staff Reince Priebus, were also invited but aren't expected to attend. Both Kelly and McGahn won't be attending, CNN reported earlier today.

And more comments from some inside the White House ...

Quote
From CNN's Jim Acosta

Former administration officials invited to President Trump's departure ceremony are taking a pass, some due to their disgust with Trump.

"Is there a disappointment factor, yes!" said one former senior White House official.

"Sending the mob was a red line," a senior White House adviser said.

"He has eviscerated his legacy," said another senior White House adviser.

Trump doing his normal rambling, but his heart just doesn't seem to be in it.

Jared, and Eric Trump both seem to be tearing up. Ivanka and Don Jr are grinning like Stepford Wives.

Melania spoke for two sentences, and seems to be ecstatic to be out of there.

Oh, one last thought. Trump left the stage with a glum look on his face, departing his final event as president, while YMCA played in the background.

One last surreal, Veep-esque scene to end this presidency on.
