President Donald Trump, in one of his last acts as president, revoked his own executive order requiring federal government appointees to sign a pledge to not lobby the agencies in which they worked for five years after leaving the administration.

The executive order proved largely toothless in an administration known for its ethical lapses, with at least 33 former administration officials sidestepping the lobbying restrictions as of February 2019, according to ProPublica.

Can any of the Trumpists/blue avs please explain again how Trump "drained the swamp" or "stood up to the corrupt DC elite" or whatever?

How do they explain this?

Trump merely wanted to replace the swamp with his own.

LOL, not surprising that no one is even attempting to defend this as not corrupt.

Not sure how the career in lobbying will work out considering nearly all the R's in Congress hate him deep down.

He's not doing this for himself, but for his scads of cronies and other Administration sycophants. Though the same problem will hold in that association with the Trump White House is presently toxic. Admittedly that will pass before long among Republicans at least.

He is very much the first blatantly pro-corruption President we've ever had.

I did say he would screw over virtually everyone who supported him one way or another.

He did (partly) drain the swamp. Unfortunately, the people he brought in to replace the swamp creatures were sometimes worse.

People in the Trump administration are fairly toxic.  Not sure what practical impact this will have.  I don't think companies want to be associated with Trump cronies, they have no credibility beyond Trump and Trump sympathizers, and neither are in power right now anyway.
