Because then you wouldn't be blatantly cynical and willing to promote dishonest, insincere political arguments. The only commendable thing in such a statement is that you're honestly admitting that your don't really believe in your own arguments. From here on, I will assume the worst about all of your posts - that you don't actually believe what you're saying.

If we're going to do this kind of comparison than why not the 1993 World Trade Center bombing (small death toll, "this could have been much worse") or the Oklahoma City bombing (domestic attack from right-wing extremists)?

I will admit, it was surreal to witness the novelty of a defeated President encouraging or at least giving a wink and a nudge to an attack by some of his supporters on the legislative branch in an attempt to sabotage the peaceful transition of power--surreal even coming from that President.

As abhorrent as the Trump riot was, it's not comparable to 9/11 because FAR more people died in the latter.
