Other than just assuming they're psychotic and not responding.

Can you dissuade someone who is psychotic?

Anyway, claiming to be "God" is like claiming to know "God", and to know what "he" thinks what "he" says. It involves a lack of humility to say that a certain version of "God" (for example, the Christian "God") is the only correct one.

Dogma is the problem with all if not most "religions". Dogma I is a person's number one dogma. Their world view. Spelled backwards it is "I am God" It's one thing to be a theist. It is quite another thing to be an arrogant one. An example of this kind of arrogance is for someone else to tell me what I have to believe or perhaps even worse, what I can and can't do as long as it doesn't directly hurt other people.

how do I know they ain't a god?  In a way, aren't we all a god?  I know I am.

I would not get in an argument with a crazy person if I can help it....at least in real life, I do it all the time here.

Ask them a questiom only I know the answer to. If they don't know or try 'don't test me/mysterious ways' hand waving, then walk on.

If I wanted to dissuade them then I would just ask them to fix everything wrong in my life. If they aren't willing then they can face my wrath.

I wouldn't, on the off chance this stranger was actually god and becomes infuriated by my disrespect and blasphemy. Pascal's wager.
