Assuming that you are male, you would be better off with a girlfriend or a gay lover than loading up on mashed potatoes and gravy or getting a beer belly. That is for reasons of health. Having someone credible who can say NO, let alone HELL NO!, to you when you start to drift into troublesome behavior is precious. This is so at any age, and no matter what else is right about your life. Without someone credible to say no, one can be lulled into doing things that one thinks that one can get away with until those crash down. A boss can control you only while you are at work or on matters that can decide whether you keep the job.      

Lucky for me, I've got a girlfriend who appreciates mashed potatoes, gravy and a beer belly
