I'd actually suggest putting this up for a vote just to see how hackish/partisan republicans really are. Could be a tough vote for some of the members

Same. Put them on record. I want to see who wouldn't vote to impeach trump over sending a terrorist mob to kill the VP and Congressmen, but who will vote to impeach Biden over nothing.

I hate to say it, but this is an easy out for all too many Republican Congress members. Very very few I believe would be threaten to buy a serious primary challenge over this, or otherwise be among the crazy caucus like MTG, Jordan, Etc.

Instead, it gives them a total straw man to knock down and then trumpet about how bipartisan and reasonable they are for not supporting a resolution stemming from literal mental illness. It effectively give them cover as being so-called middle of the road and reasonable despite voting against impeachment today on the flimsiest of pretexts.

For abuse of power...

lol Biden technically doesn’t even have any power yet.

That didn't stop them in 1861 either.

I haven’t paid enough attention to MTG to determine if she’s an idiot or just cynical and shameless.

Is she a Cruz or a Gohmert?

Absolutely the latter. She is a thousand yard stare True Believer.

I don't think she's an idiot so much as legitimately mentally ill. Undiagnosed schizophrenia of some level would be my armchair diagnosis.

I'm not surprised by this. Taylor-Greene has certainly established herself as one of the worst members of Congress-she's in a tie with Boebert, Gohmert, Gosar, Jordan, Brooks, and Cawthorn for that distinction. And many partisan Republicans-such as those on RRH Elections (and yes, this is a running gag at this point, but it's useful for comparison) are already demanding that the Party retaliate by impeaching Biden.

This is Matt Gaetz erasure.

Him also! I've lost track of the number of Republican extremists at this point.

Gohmert easily, she probably has a undiagnosed mental problem

You are probably right that there are a handful of them who could (and would) do that, but I would bet the majority of the R caucus would vote to impeach Biden on day 1 if it were put to a vote. This shouldn't be surprising, because a majority of them just voted in opposition to Biden becoming President in the first place despite the fact that he won the election, with the only reason they voted against this being lunatic conspiracy theories.

So I think you are giving the vast majority of House Republicans way too much credit.

OK so what abuse of power did the president-elect perpetrate while not in office yet?

In case anyone's wondering, they will probably be sent to the Judiciary Committe and never heard from again.

Which is a damm shame. Humiliating some of the Biden/downballot Republican voters and showing them yet again why Republicans can't be trusted regardless of how they campaign would be so worth it.

MTG, Jordan, Brooks, Boebert, Gosar and Gohmert are easily the worst house members in Congress.

Deport them to Russia, and let the serve as Putin's goons in the Russian parliament.

I'm so disappointed in my county GOP.  Almost no pushback in the comments either, other than one person saying "wouldn't this make Kamala president".  You would think that we would be concerned about our margin being cut from 47 points to 26 points in just eight years and want to move the party back in a direction to gain back some of the ground we lost, but apparently not.

ETA: It's also kind of funny that they misspelled two of Marjorie Taylor Greene's three names

I hate to break it to you, but this sort of behavior is who the GOP is now.
