(Obligatory no Founding Father is perfect, which made their collective accomplishments and ability to come together to form a rather innovative government even cooler disclaimer.)

Hamilton.

Don't really like either of these guys, but Burr tried to steal a presidential election and should have been executed for treason. IDK why he's winning here unless it's just post-Hamilton "reevaluation" contrarianism.

Alexander Hamilton (conservative).

Also totally unrelated, but I can name at least five famous people killed in a duel during the 19th century who were more interesting than Hamilton:
- Évariste Galois
- Aleksandr Puškin
- Mikhail Lermontov
- Ferdinande Lassalle
- Felice Cavallotti

Burr was the best major politician of his day, and Hamilton was terrible, not a question

Don't really like either of these guys, but Burr tried to steal a presidential election

Neither were great but Burr if forced to choose. He was ahead of his time in many ways (especially on women’s rights) and wasn’t an insufferable authoritarian/monarchist like Hamilton. Who was basically begging to get shot most of his life; it was only a matter of time before someone actually did it. Also Hamilton tried to cheat in the duel by rigging the pistols to operate on a secret hair trigger that only he knew about and STILL lost. Most evidence suggests he did NOT throw away his shot, he just missed. He was a devious coward to the end.

Hamilton on the issue of America's financial system
Burr on almost everything else
Burr wins out.
