Boeing has to be thankful right now that it was a classic 737 and not a 737 Max.  Even without the plane being at fault, a 737 Max crash right now would kill Boeing. Not that Boeing matters as much as the people and families affected by this tragedy.

The prudent thing for Boeing to do is to ground their entire fleet in Indonesia and never let another Indonesian pilot or airline operate them again.

I'm old enough to remember when a crashed airliner would dominate world headlines for days. This is barely noticed.

Both Malaysia and Indonesia seems to have problems with their pilots.
