Donald Trump lost the election by a large margin. His social media accounts have been suspended. Pence and McConnel have turned on him publicly and Democrats control the Federal Government. The electoral college has been certified and Trump has conceded.

I do not know what the next chapter will bring and this isn't a discussion on what's next. This thread is a celebration of an end of the Trump presidency. The end of an era that started Summer 2015.

The end of an error.

I wouldn't consider 42,918 votes out of 81,268,867 cast to be a large margin.

0.053% of votes cast in 3 states chose the President.

Now, that's it's official from Twitter, there won't be any more Trump's running for office again, without Twitter, Lara Trump is finished

Lotta white people from the exurbs are gonna have to find something new to base their entire personality around now. Be on the lookout for signs of depression and suicidal ideation amongst your most hardcore MAGA family members once they are faced with the reality of going back to their mediocre lives that are now meaningless. I know I've got a few on my watchlist.

Hope the tax cuts and courts were worth it, Republicans.

Hope the tax cuts and courts were worth it, Republicans.

It more than likely was to them, because in a year (maybe less) they'll forget all about Trump (and will likely begin throwing him under the bus as soon as all these investigations come to fruition for his insurmountable crimes he's committed) and will go back to pretending like they have "principles" and care about the Constitution that they've shredded over the past four years to protect their tyrant from his numerous crimes, and since Democrats don't know how to stand up to Republicans, they'll continue to get away with hoodwinking voters with the typical "Dems are far left AOC socialists who kill babies and are a'comin' for your guns and Bibles!" schpiel like they've been doing for years now.

So yeah, they've milked this cow for all he's got and tax cuts and judges are just fine to them since the only things they care about (other than themselves) are money and power.

Democrats winning the senate have really accelerated the end of the Trump era.  It means no investigations into mythical voter fraud.  It also means the right has to tread lightly because Democrats have complete power now.

Nothing is over.

I hate to say this, but we must be more vigilant than we ever have been.

Don Jr. and Ivanka are waiting in the wings.  There are others too.  Hawley may be shamed now but who knows in a few more years.  And who knows who else is out there.

This is a rejection of Donald himself, but the movement of conspiracy theories and treachery is afoot and won't go away just like that.

Similarly, a lot of White people in the suburbs and MSM talking heads are going to have to find a new personality other than simply being reflexive, anti-Trump shills.  Look for signs of depression, in-fighting and increasingly combative takes from people who don’t know what they’re suppose to think anymore now that Trump can’t be the stand-in for everything they’re supposed to hate.

Seriously, what are Jim Acosta and Don Lemon gonna chicken little about every night now?

Remains to be seen whether Trumpism and all he embraced is over. I have my doubts. The country is deeply divided and the fact people live in the different realities due to their use of news sources and social media makes it very hard to really unite. Biden and Dems have a chance though to bridge at least some divides and improve life condidtions to regain trust in govt and institutions.

I just hope the Trump era and especially events of this week were a wakeup call for all of us. Those who don't learn from history are condemned to repeat it.

Honestly, the amount of anger Trump's base has towards establishment Republicans now could really solidify the Democrats as the dominant party going forward.  They already had the upper hand, having won every election's popular vote from 1992 to present excluding 2004, but the tea party and Trump movements got alt/far right types out and voting.  Now that we see a strong distrust between the people and the party, the GOP has the potential to flounder big time. Suburbanites? Gone for good. Trump supporters? Now they're gone too.  How can they win now?

Similarly, a lot of White people in the suburbs and MSM talking heads are going to have to find a new personality other than simply being reflexive, anti-Hitler shills.  Look for signs of depression, in-fighting and increasingly combative takes from people who don’t know what they’re suppose to think anymore now that Hitler can’t be the stand-in for everything they’re supposed to hate.

Seriously, what are Dwight Eisenhower and Edward R. Murrow gonna chicken little about every night now?

People are fully capable of having ideas while being disgusted with the fascist filth poisoning our country. I'm sure you'd mock your electrician for wanting to get rid of a syphilitic buffalo in your office before fixing the wiring, but it doesn't make you clever or mean he doesn't know how to do his job.

I like how he considers "reflexive, anti-Hitler shills" an insult and seems to be using comparisons to Dwight Eisenhower and Edward R. Murrow as sarcastic pejoratives. He's really letting his far-right freak flag fly today.

If you don't believe in the existence of "reflexive, anti-Hitler shills," just look at Jeff Tiedrich, the Krassenstein bros (and "Mrs." Krassenstein), etc. Twitter isn't real life, but Twitter accounts are run by real people, some of whom seem to think Twitter actually is real life.
