I've heard this brought up in terms of Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders. Trump strikes me as the kind of person who would also have that sort of legacy following (ie: his support will not just sink back into the woodwork). Who would be Trump's spiritual successor four or more years down the line?

Maybe Donald Trump?

I don't see him going away after this election. He'll stay relevant in politics for at least the next cycle, but I don't think he'll ever become the nominee again. After that, who knows? Perhaps he would've killed his own movement.

Beats me.  I don't understand what attracted the basket of deplorables to Trump in the first place.  I didn't see Trump galvanizing the support that he did, so guessing who his successor will be is a tall order for me.

I think Newt Gingrich will probably run for president again in 2020 then be one of the first ones out

Jeff Sessions could be a possibility, but old white southerners typically don't get the GOP nod.
