I would say a C(C- more honestly)

Pros:
- Won the election
- Picked up AZ and Ga along with the whole rust belt back
- Good fundraising
- Limiting Biden's gaffes(if it matters)
- Getting 80 million votes

Cons
- Abandoning door- knocking
- Keeping Biden sheltered(in the basement)
- underperformance compared to expectations
- Lack of clear messaging at times

B for Biden. Bad messaging & ground game (as usual), but at least Biden won, Dems kept the house, and Trump blessed Democrats with a trifecta on his way out.

Honestly, people want normalcy. We can't have it yet, but staying sheltered in place so long probably wasn't a good look. If Biden had done the car rally thing much sooner, I think a lot of that narrative could have been forestalled, and maybe he would have actually set an example for how to proceed with life safely, rather than come off as too cautious or even extreme.

It's tough to pick between C and B, but I'll go with B because they did win after all. In hindsight I think that the refusal to do safe in-person campaigning from the get-go, or at least starting earlier in the summer after the initial lockdowns, was their biggest mistake. The vast majority of the country still had to go to work in spite of the pandemic, so Biden seeming to be in his basement for so long may have seemed out of touch. Abandoning door-knocking also was a big mistake and easily could've been done safely with masks and remaining outside of people's homes.

Yeah, no. Really don't think the electorate at large thought Biden was being "too cautious"or "too extreme", or at least, I don't think they held that against him. He's a 78-year old man during COVID. I think most sane people did not have a problem with it. Canvassers door knocking however is a different story.

This.  Canvassers safely going door to door would have been completely fine.

Borderline B/B-. It's a win, so there's that. However, some of these states were too close for comfort. I think the lack of a strong ground game really hurt Democrats down-ballot. There were ways to do that safely without compromising either the ground or people's safety. I think this was a lesson learned for the Georgia Senate runoffs. They also should've had Joe (and Kamala) out there more often on the stump. People want to see the candidates fighting for them and their votes. That part got a little better as time went on, but a lot of time was lost.

F. Biden should have won by 40 points.
