Honestly I don't care to nor condone attacking Republicans who are standing against Trump and his rioters. People like Mitch have done a lot of bad, but it isn't about that stuff right now. Its about the fundamentals of democracy. We should accept all the help we get in defending it.

They've been eroding democracy and festering demonization for 30+ years. This is the latest development in a narrative that goes thru Trump, McConnell, Dubya, Gingrich, etc. I'm not giving them brownie points or sympathy if they feel the line ends with the 1-2 of the delegitimization of a presidential election and the storming of the US Capitol

Tom Cotton calls for an end to objection, calls out Hawley, Cruz, Stefanik, and others who focused on blocking certification:

"It’s past time for the president to accept the results of the election, quit misleading the American people, and repudiate mob violence. And the senators and representatives who fanned the flames by encouraging the president and leading their supporters to believe that their objections could reverse the election results should withdraw those objections"

This is commendable, But I still think Cotton is an HP.

Damn, that's probably the most stinging rebuke from a solidly right wing republican to date.

Your move little Marco.

Wow. Is Lankford switching. Wow. Didn't see this coming. Guess he won't object.

I commend him.
He said that the commission (to investigate voter fraud) the objectors want to be created "definitely" won't happen after "what happened today" so there's no point in objecting.

It's not a "I was wrong, there was no voter fraud, this ridiculousness has gone too far", but I'll take it.

I mean, yeah I don't like Lankford. But good is good.

She's trash.  Can NY gerrymander this worthless moron into oblivion?

You've asked this question many times so let me answer, if HR1 does not pass, NY Dems will draw the maps, there is no way to screw her over, her seat is a GOP sink that actually supports the map, and you want to pack as many GOP votes there as possible, if anything she might lose Plattsburgh, if Democrats want to go scorched her, but drawing her out is very, very stupid.

Lankford's mealy mouthed speech is going to be typical of the response from the right-wing cabal that led to today's events. Nothing but disdain for him and his craven colleagues.

Will Trump get a presidential library?

He’s not simply a bad president...he’s a terrorist.

Yes, but it will be located in Moscow.

Why does Idaho get stuck with it?

Hey CCM...just a tip...we just got off from what was like a mini civil war/societal collapse, why are we still talking up false voter fraud allegations instead of just certifying this damn thing?

I watched Sarah Palin and all she was saying was that Trump appointed too many Never-Trumpers to his cabinet and they sabotaged his presidency, lol.  She wasn't criticizing the GOP in the way that the tweet implies.

You're right, and these Republicans shouldn't be treated like FFs for speaking out against the coup attempt. That said, we gotta take every minor win.

She will. She's a saneTM Republican  Purple heart

Um, not to derail This Thread, but isn't she like a first-class homophobe?

Sorry, I ask but these threads move fast and I don't see the response.  It looks like NY will lose 2 seats though.  If that happens, who are the two most likely to lose out?

I knew I forgot one.

I don't want to see the words "unprecedented", "unheard of", "unreal", "shocking", "my God" or "wow" used to describe any political story.

In my view, those words have lost all meaning after the last 4 years.
