Are any of y'all actually surprised cops are getting chummy with fascist militias even as they swarm the capitol? I wish I lived in y'alls world.

I think it's more likely that they are simply trying to avoid the optics of a bloodbath in the Capitol. I understand the logic of it, but I don't agree with it.

I’m not opposed to people owning and having fire arms. That’s their constitutional right as citizens, and I support it. But this? Going to the capital, breaking in, storming the House and Senate chambers? Unacceptable.

So what's the alternative? Angry letters? Continuing to not hold politicians and law enforcement accountable in tangible ways?

The system is broken and it needs to be rebuilt from the ground-up. I don't care who sparks it, but this is actually a moment for the disenfranchised and the cynics on both the left and right to retake the country for ourselves.

I understand this isn’t really important right now, but how in the hell is security this lax in literally the most important building to protect in the entire country in a country with a $4 trillion GDP that fancies itself to be the greatest in the world? Especially on a day when they knew there was going to be unrest? My local Wal-Mart was more prepared to handle potential BLM related riots than the Capitol was for this. The first bipartisan hearings in the 117th Congress should be whoever is responsible for keeping the Capitol secure. I want answers. I also want answers from the Pentagon and the Secret Service.

Until today, this kind of thing was unthinkable in America.

It is the same thing in principle but many magnitudes worse in scale. Again, the looters and rioters who destroyed property in June should have been shot, and these fascist goons should be dealt with in much the same way.

I am actually quaking in anger right now. Rarely do I have this kind of reaction to political news. The last time I had it was in response to the BLM riots last summer. And Trump is doing absolutely nothing in response to this. If he doesn't, he needs to be removed under the 25th Amendment as soon as possible.

They just showed cell phone video of some girl/woman who was shot in the Capitol.
I think they said it was in her eye (which is more than likely in her brain).
She was barely alive, and will probably not live.
