Quote
CNN's Brianna Keilar spoke with the lawyers representing the man photographed sitting at a desk in House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's office during the January 6 riot at the US Capitol. They argue that their client called Speaker Pelosi a "biatch," which they say is less offensive than calling her a "b*tch."

Watch here ... https://us.cnn.com/videos/politics/2021/04/28/alleged-capitol-rioter-nancy-pelosi-biatch-lawyers-react-newday-vpx.cnn

You have to watch and listen to the ridiculous nonsense this lawyer is spewing about his client ... a domestic terrorist.
"The defense" here is so comical, it's mind blowing.

I'd say that calling for people to bring guns to the Capitol is a call for others to do something quite illegal. Advocacy of a violent crime when there is some likelihood  of such a crime being committed is itself a crime.

If someone called for people to bring firearms to a Black Lives Matter demonstration on behalf of either side, then that person would likely be charged with a crime.

Of course -- if proved guilty as charged in a court of law.

So we finally have an answer as to what authority Pence supposedly had to order the activation of the DC National Guard. In contrast to earlier reports, it turns out that it was never Pence who did so. Rather, it was the President, but with a twist:

Honestly, you have to give them some mad props. After all, they followed their orders & did whatever was necessary to protect the demonstrators' constitutionally protected right to go to prison.

Oh, Trump said, "Do whatever is necessary to protect the demonstrators, executing their constitutionally protected rights"? That sounds a lot like a sentence he would put together...

This idiot is my Congressman.  I was happy to see Doug Collins leave to run for Senate, but I think Clyde is actually worse.

60% of the people charged thus far had a history of financial troubles such as bankruptcies, evictions, and staggering debt.

This seems to be a far more significant statistic than the 1-out-of-5 insurrectionists who are either active-duty or veterans (my guess is they were mostly knuckleheads who got kicked out).

So they just had some economic anxieties then...

Pelosi, Schumer, McCarthy and McConnell have finally come up with a deal to create a bipartisan commission investigating January 6th.

Good God. Why include McConnell and McCarthy in this in anything more than a protection bases? You realize they are going to do everything humanly possible to cover up get in the horrible unconstitutional anti-democratic literally treasonous actions taken by Trump and his inner circle.

I think they want it to be bipartisan for the optics, but regardless they need at least McConnell on board so it can pass the Senate.

Idiot? Worse -- liar. He's a dumb liar who says something demonstrably false.

Before January 6 I would have seen images like that as absurd fiction. Seven Days in May at least makes literary sense.

Then it will never pass the Senate.

The Jan 6th insurrection was a historical continuation of the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre

Photo emerges of Republican barricading chamber doors during US Capitol attack after he compared rioters to ‘tourists’
Quote
A photo has emerged of Andrew Clyde, the Republican congressman who claimed “there was no insurrection” and compared US Capitol rioters to “tourists”, barricading the House chamber during the attack.

Since we're about to hit 200 pages, I think it might be a good idea to start a new "January 6th legal proceedings" thread, since it looks like any new "DC unrest" will probably be a whole new phenomenon.

Anyways,
