When the commission on the January 6th Insurrection meets, they also need to consider what can be done about the rightwing media universe that feeds disinformation and conspiracy theories to otherwise well-meaning fellow Americans who follow them.  At this point, their First Amendment rights should be considered forfeit after what happened that day, and their key role in fomenting the violence:

Some of his followers are being sought by the FBI. It's not stopping the leader of the Oath Keepers.

The FBI is investigating some of his followers. Others are already in custody and facing decades in prison if convicted of federal charges connected to the January 6 insurrection at the US Capitol. But the national leader of the extremist Oath Keepers group is carrying on as before. He might even be emboldened.

"You gotta declare this regime to be illegitimate," Stewart Rhodes said on Infowars on January 30 -- 24 days after the riot amid the violence that left five dead and delayed the certification of President Joe Biden's election win. "You gotta to declare everything that comes out of King Biden's mouth as illegitimate -- null and void from the inception because he is not a legitimate president." 

Rhodes is still peddling the falsehood that the election was illegitimate. He says Biden's administration and supporters in Congress should be seen as an occupying enemy force and issues warnings about what he claims are 365 million armed patriots ready to "rise up."

"There is going to be resistance. The only question is what will be the spark," Rhodes said in a January 30 interview on Infowars, a media organization that is one of the leading purveyors of conspiracy theories in the US. "They keep pushing," he said of who he calls "leftists." "That is why it's important... Let them be the ones who draw first blood. Then you defend."

So, the "zip tie guy" Eric Munchel will be imprisoned until his trial. A Magistrate judge in Tennessee said that, since there was no evidence he ever tried to hurt anyone or break any property at the Capitol, he wasn't a threat to the community. But the government appealed. And a District Court judge in DC (a Reagan appointee) pointed out that, while that's true, he did threaten something more important than any property or individuals. By trying to subvert an election and prevent the peaceful transfer of power, he threatened the republic itself.

It's gratifying to see a judge take that line or reasoning, and I hope the other DC District Court judges feel the same way when they preside over the actual trials.

Mcconnell and Portman should of voted for conviction, Josh Mandel isn't a likeable candidate like sportsman is, since Portman nor Mandel wants to hold Trump accountable voters of OH will with female voters and blue collar 12% AA, OH is still a stretch but it's plausable that we win the Senate race not Gov race

CNN: Capitol Police: 6 officers suspended for alleged roles in riot

Six US Capitol Police officers have been suspended with pay, and 29 others have been placed under investigation, for their actions in the January 6 riot, a department spokesman said Thursday.

"Acting Chief Yogananda Pittman has directed that any member of her department whose behavior is not in keeping with the Department's Rules of Conduct will face appropriate discipline," department spokesman John Stolnis told CNN.

CNN reported in January that the USCP had placed at least 10 officers under investigation, and two others had been suspended.

One of the suspended officers took a selfie with someone who was part of the mob that overtook the Capitol, according to Rep. Tim Ryan, a Democrat from Ohio. Another wore a "Make America Great Again" hat and started directing people around the building, Ryan said.

Several Capitol Hill officers have reportedly threatened self-harm since the events of January 6th, including one who turned her own gun in to prevent herself from committing suicide.

It's pretty insane. The stupidity of people never ceases to amaze me. I once encountered a 32 year-old that believed Abe Lincoln was president during WWII. And there are tons of criminals that post evidence of their highly illegal activity to the internet and get caught because of it. I always think of the (many) stories of people posting about robberies they committed on Facebook.

Pennsylvania cop charged in Capitol riot: 'FBI may arrest me ..LOL.'

A Pennsylvania police officer is facing criminal charges after posting a video of himself fighting with other officers during the US Capitol insurrection.

Federal prosecutors said video footage shows Joseph Fischer, 55, running at a police line outside the Capitol and yelling, "Charge!" A patrolman with the North Cornwall Township Police Department, Fisher allegedly yelled "motherf---ers" as he clashed with officers on January 6.

Oath Keeper claims she was VIP security at Trump rally before riot and says she met with Secret Service agents

A leader in an alleged Oath Keepers conspiracy in the US Capitol insurrection claims she was given a VIP pass to the pro-Trump rally on January 6, had met with Secret Service agents and was providing security for legislators and others, including in their march to the Capitol, according to a new court filing.

"On January 5 and 6, Ms. Watkins was present not as an insurrectionist, but to provide security to the speakers at the rally, to provide escort for the legislators and others to march to the Capitol as directed by the then-President, and to safely escort protestors away from the Capitol to their vehicles and cars at the conclusion of the protest," the court filing said on Saturday. "She was given a VIP pass to the rally. She met with Secret Service agents. She was within 50 feet of the stage during the rally to provide security for the speakers. At the time the Capitol was breached, she was still at the site of the initial rally where she had provided security."

Prosecutors previously said Watkins had waited for direction from Trump -- and believed she had received it before she joined the siege, allegedly leading several others into the Capitol building to fight against Congress' certification of the Electoral College vote.

Watkins' defense attorney, Michelle Peterson, wrote on Saturday that her client and other supporters of Trump had believed the then-President would invoke the Insurrection Act to use the military to overturn what he falsely said was the fraudulent election of Joe Biden. And Watkins and others believed "they would have a role if this were to happen," the filing said.

I could see the Oath Keepers and Proud Boys be completely disintegrated because of this, breaking into numerous radicalized factions much harder to crack at every chapter. I think that leaves just the Atomwaffen division as the strongest Alt-right organization
