Arlington County PD is fine.

I get the impression they aren't skull-crackers.

LAPD doesn't have a great reputation iirc. I've never had to deal with them directly, and obviously I'd like to keep it that way.

I don't know whether the police of La Spezia has any reputation one way or the other, but I guess my opinion is neutral.

The Met have faced a fair deal of criticism over the years (probably inevitable as the UK’s largest police force), but most individual policemen and policewomen seem personally nice and trying to do the right thing. Obviously police brutality is nowhere near as big of an issue over here as the vast majority of policemen and policewomen don’t carry guns.

Total HP, but better than most urban police departments; iirc they didn't go all in on police brutality in june.

most police brutality in the US doesn't involve guns, it's usually more subtle (and, of course, is always backed up with the ever present threat of guns).  Certainly the gun brutality gets the most international (and national) press.

My city’s police department actually issued a statement condemning the restraint techniques used by Minneapolis Police and clarifying that they do not use or allow those techniques.

FPD.  I know one personally, and I don’t envy the bullshlt they had to deal with this summer ... and every other murder-filled week in Chicago.

I try and avoid the police as much as possible. Of course I've met some cops who are nice but on the job try and stay out of their way. It's common sense. They're not your friend.

Worst PD in Oregon by far is the Portland department (true for most big cities) but if I'm driving and I see a sheriff or police car I'll get out of their way and go a different route. Especially on the freeway cause everyone drives 15 or 20 over and there's no way in hell I'm passing a cop so it gets in an awkward game of following a couple car lengths and constantly checking my speed. Relative to the average department across the country I'd say both Washington County sheriff and Beaverton police are on the better side but that's relative of course.

Lean FF

I've never interacted much with them and I'd like to keep it that way. However, I also haven't heard any scandals or anything coming from our local police.

Well, apart from the one time I was almost kidnapped by someone pretending to be local police, but I am not blaming the police for that one Tongue

Most complaints in Spain about the police tend to be focused on the national branches (Policia Nacional and Guardia Civil); not on local police forces.

this thread is further proof (as if anyone needed it) as to why "Defund the Police" is horrible policy position to hold if you want to get elected

Neutral. I live in a small town so they don't really do anything except occasionally bust a party with underage drinking and give out speeding tickets.

They’re actually pretty decent for the most part. Me and one of my good friends (who is black) have a long history of hanging out around here at the town common, or drinking outside behind his apartment complex (which they heavily patrol at night), and have legit never been bothered, harassed, or even questioned by them. Generally speaking if they see us at night hanging out they’ll just wave at us.
