Of course, and it wasn't just a thing in the Dixiecrat era. I've met plenty of liberals who are racist (virulently so in some cases) despite having voted for Obama twice, one of the most racist people I ever met was a liberal from Florida who was quite open about how much he hated Cubans just because he didn't like their politics and blamed them for Florida's rightward drift.

I'm not even joking.

Yes. Many rural, very pro-Trump counties have many more registered Democrats than registered Republicans (Elliott County, KY, has just a 10% GOP registration rate, but gave Trump north of 70% in both his campaigns), but these are conservative Democrats who are DINOs (and who are registered blue for the sake of tradition or because they support the occassional local, conservative Democrat) and I can easily imagine a few of them being racist.
