Wokeness is an anti-white cult, it is inherently racist.

Do you think about anything other than white people. You seem very boring.

I know this is a troll thread but some of the rhetoric around BLM last summer reeked of white saviourism.

Perhaps some people with unconscious racist beliefs are drawn to wokeness like closeted gay people tend to drawn into homophobic movements - as a way to overcompensate for thoughts that make them uncomfortable.

In a couple of ways, yes. Anything related to cultural appropriation strikes me as very unintentionally racist. I mean, if you're saying only African Americans can wear "urban style" outfits or only Hispanics can wear sombreros, who's the one really perpetuating cultural stereotypes?

There are plenty of "accidentally-racist" ideas and people (sometimes not-so-accidentally depending on which minority groups have a problem with which other minority groups) current within anti-racist movements, yes.

I've seen enough "[negative adjective] Latinos fetishize strongman machismo" takes from supposedly 'woke' people to answer yes.

It certainly seems like there's a lot of infantilizing and denying agency to racial minorities which happens in woke circles.

Yes but who cares? Let's talk about people whose racism actually affects lives instead.

Yeah, pretty clearly. Not only do many of them express racism towards minority groups who don't fit their narrative (Jews, Asians, Cubans), but many of them have a bizarrely patronizing approach towards minorities that often trends towards modern-day "noble savage" rhetoric.

Absolutely. I think a lot of it might stem from their feeling private racial resentment or feeling some racist impulses so they feel guilty and engage in this performative anti-racism. Things like that creep out sometimes.

Then there's the condescension angle which is unintentional but also emblematic of racist views. They basically think minorities can't be held to the same standard as whites and they need to be held to a lower one like they're children or retarded. They also promote a lot of hyper-essentialist views on race with the "cultural appropriation" talk.

On top of that a lot of them are racist against other white people, which counts just as much.

It certainly seems like there's a lot of infantilizing and denying agency to racial minorities which happens in woke circles.

Yup, minorities are pretty much expected to fit into their political narrative, otherwise they pretend these minorities don’t exist or use the “unconscious of their real interests” BS in order to justify the fact they’re massively out of touch.

If minorities try to get protagonism for something that is outside “the expected”, racism towards them becomes justified by the wokesters. “Wokeness” is mostly a political tactic in the US, it isn’t supposed to address minorities concerns and new voices. The only “minorities” these people embrace are the ones who fall in line with the system that was created and run by white men since its creation. If they promise to never change the privileges logic, then they’re a “good minority”. Which is why someone like Kamala Harris is loved by these woke circles despite her policies towards minorities and not because of them.

See: progressive movement that renovated political landscape and put non-white women into the spotlight, including Muslims, being attacked as if they and their supporters were bigots because how dare those colored women say things that contradict enlightened legends like Hillary and Nancy Pelosi!

Yes. They might, say, be racist against white people (very, very possible there are at least some such people).

Yes, and it's more than a hypothetical given the paternalism you see from some sectors of the woke movement.

Yes.

See the reactions from some liberals and leftists regarding Cubans. There’s also the fact that some (extremely fringe, mind you) people who become so woke they end up supporting segregation or ethnostates.

If you think the answer to this question isn't yes, then either you're staying away from twitter (good move tbh) or you're spending way, way too much time on it and need help.
