I definitely don't want to put on a conspiracy theory hat, but a large part of me thinks Netanyahu found and exploited the weak link in the coalition. I certainly think he's capable of that.
Did he orchestrate it? no, I don't think so.
Is he to blame? yes, but allowing Ohana and the new chief of police to run amok

I think very few leaders or governments have the ability to light a fire themselves intentionally when it comes to situations like these, but many are more than pleased when they happen. I would assume that it would be quite difficult to orchestrate with Gantz as Minister of Defense, right?
I certainly hope talks for a government can be salvaged. Are they completely dead or is there any way to salvage things? It would be unfortunate for Israel and the rest of the world if Netanyahu somehow found a way to finish off talks leading to his own defeat and then turns around and wins the next election on a national security platform.
