Historical reenacting depends on whether you restrict it to stereotypical "Confederate LARPing in the park for Memorial Day" and the like or extend it to cover pursuits like historical dance or volunteering at a living history museum. A broad enough definition of the hobby might actually make it one of the most Democratic in the country.

Nah. I think it's pretty conservative. Historical reenactors are--as a general rule--a pretty weird and occasionally anti-intellectual group of people--especially the ones into frontier and military history. In my experience, they can really fetishize historic social orders which is Trump's whole thing.

Maybe "one of the most Democratic" was hyperbole, but my point was that people, especially women, whose idea of fun is going to "Roaring 20s lawn parties" or leading people on a tour of a C19 sea captain's house while in costume as his wife are not going to be nearly as conservative in their historiographical or political attitudes as are the frontier and military types.

My gut feeling is that that hobby probably contains a disproportionate share of people who are pretty small-c conservative, but not politically conservative/Republican-leaning in the usual sense of the word (i.e. people like me).
To be fair, my only experience with American historical reenactors has been visiting Colonial Williamsburg, and I would guess that its workers/volunteers are strongly Democratic but only because many of them are W&M students.

By definition, half the civil war guys are going to be Union, but I've no reason to expect a large divergence in voting habits. Then add Revolutionary, World I, World II, and Vietnam wars...

what about:

- hanging out in rural parking lots at night
- staring at the wall
- doing stunts like on jackass
These are all the preferred hobbies of what I call the "Joe Rogan voter". The vast majority of my friends are dudes like these and they seem to be a Trump/Jorgensen/Bernie swing demographic. They are the real elusive, "moderate" young people who usually don't turn out to vote. Not suburban white women in their forties. A campaign catering to the interests of this demographic would be near unstoppable.

(I'm only partially joking)

Walmart parking lots or the front curb of gas station convenience stores is where the real battles of the mind occur.

Some hobbies already mentioned I find pretty intriguing politically, like stamp and coin collectors, radio amateurs, and historical reenactors. What about the following?

- Playing poker
- Collecting playing cards
- Calligraphy/nib pens
- Woodworking
- Swimming in the Great Lakes
- Irish pubs
- Singing in a church choir
- Central Asian history
- Astrology

Trump, Biden, Biden, Trump, wash, wash, wash, Biden, Biden.

There are definitely more white Evangelicals than black Evangelicals, but white Evangelical worship practices are less likely to include traditional choirs, as opposed to praise and worship bands leading the whole congregation in song. The bulk of non-black church choirs across this great land are either mainline Protestant or Catholic, both of which religious traditions broke for Biden (although white Catholics narrowly stuck with Trump).

Proffesional poker players skew heavily democrat in terms of donations, though the people who play it as a hobby skew heavily male.

For the record, number 3, arguably number 2, and (sort of, not really) number 6 apply to myself. So that's good.

Maybe slightly less likely, but I'm not sure if its significant enough to make up the difference. This is anecdotal but all the white evangelicals I know are absolutely die-hard about their church choirs. But that may be a Southern thing.

How about these activities?

- People who blast pornography out loud in a bus
- Failed Rappers who couldn't make it
- Kayakers and Canoers(in lakes or rivers)
- People who take part in the emo subculture(the spiky colourful hair and the black attires)
- Simps who fetishize about Hillary Clinton when she was younger
- Chess Players
-A racist suburban housewife who thought Clinton was secretly more racist than Trump in 2016 but now think Trump is because Joe Biden obviously isn't(was undecided for most of the race)
- Surfers
- Younger golfers(starting out)

This is anecdotal, but the historical reenactor I know best is a lesbian democratic socialist...who also refuses to wear skirts shorter than knee-length and genuinely prides herself on things like her handwriting and diction. So, yeah, that checks out.

Why does everyone think Trump won video gamers?

I think he won FPS sort of games, most other games probably went to Biden. FPS games skew very heavily male, and in general, the people who play those games seem like the more assertive type

There's absolutely no way Trump won Animal Crossing or Among Us players lmao. This veteran NationStates player voted for Biden.
I agree 100%.

Also, you play NationStates? I do too. Cool!

Nice! Do you think San Lumen is on Atlas? They're allegedly from NYC and a pretty big Dem hack to boot, but they don't seem like they could plausibly be any of the D-NYC avatars... especially since I'm not getting major anti-Cuomo vibes from any of you.

I don't know but I guess probably not.

Personally, I'm not a fan of Cuomo myself. However, I don't speak on him much.

There are several breeds of historical re-enactors. There are the ren-faire re-enactors which tend to be liberal both politically and personally. There are the other medieval reenactors like SCA members whom tend to be a very diverse breed in no small part due to the heavy military contingent, but even those in my experience tend to be better educated, and about equal partz cemale members, and thus more democratic. But you will find everything from democratic socialists to hardcore Libertarians and everything in between.

The Civil War reenactors are varied. The Confederate re-enactors are heavily middle aged southern white males, many of whom are lost causers. Thus overwhelmingly and heavily conservative. The northern types less so, but still overwhelmingly white males and a mixed breed, do with higher degrees of Education generally.

Other types of historical re-enactors? You our friend the lesbian Democratic Socialist is a pretty typical example in my experience.
