I know that in 2020 Obama campaigned for Biden alot but I wonder if bill Clinton did the same for Kerry. Did he really want Kerry to win or was he secretly hoping he loses so that his wife can run in 4 years or perhaps not upset the Bush clan who he was somewhat friendly with.

I did know he campaigned for Kerry at the end in Philadelphia and he had his own book come out but I wonder how this all played out during the campaign

Not much

The culture wars was in full swing, but Kerry didn't want to flame them. Clinton's affairs would not have helped.

Also, Kerry wanted to be his own man and not rely on a former President. Besides, the Clintons were silently hoping for Kerry to lose so Hillary could get in 2008
