What exactly was different between the 2016 and 2020 races given Trump ran the same kind of campaign both times? Why did he win the first time but not second?

Trump didn't run the exact same campaign in 2020. His message was not clear, he didn't have something catchy like MAGA or even a few key policies like build the wall. And he had more of a moderate image in 2016, in 2020 there weren't many issues where he still broke with the normal conservative Republican line.
