Suppose that somehow, for whatever reason, the GFC is delayed until after the 2010 UK General Election. How does the election play out and what are the knock-on effects?

It might even have been worse for Labour, as the GFC at least allowed Brown to recapture some of the lustre of his former reputation as the ‘iron chancellor’, following his cack-handed first fifteen months in office.
